This satellite, in essence, examines the issues pertinent to the Caribbean Region's efforts to achieve universal access to HIV & AIDS-related prevention, treatment,care and support services, by 2010. Among other issues, the presentations treat with the challenges to achieving universal access, the structural drivers of HIV & AIDS stigma and discrimination as they have manifested in the Caribbean, and developments in epidemiology and how they have evolved in the Caribbean context. The role that PLWHA have played in the Caribbean's efforts to date in responding to the epidemic and also, in this regard, the implications for the achievement of universal access by 2010.
