Word of Welcome from the AIDS 2008 Co-Chairs
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the International AIDS Society (IAS) and our Mexican and international partners, we would like to invite you to join us for the XVII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2008), to be held in México City, México from 3-8 August 2008.
AIDS 2008 will be the first International AIDS Conference ever held in Latin America, and international planning committees are already hard at work developing an exciting programme. With over 25,000 participants and 3,000 international media expected, the eyes of the world will be upon México City next summer. Be a part of AIDS 2008 and help us ensure the conference has a lasting impact throughout Latin America, as well as globally.
The AIDS 2008 theme, Universal Action Now, underscores the continued urgency of the pandemic and reminds us of the responsibility we have to take individual and collective action. For scientists, researchers, people living with HIV and other civil society leaders and professionals working in the field of HIV/AIDS, AIDS 2008 is an ideal opportunity to meet new colleagues and learn from the experiences of others engaged at the local, national and international levels. Join us in México City and help bring us closer to the goals of universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.
Kind Regards,
Pedro Cahn, MD, PhD AIDS 2008 Co-Chair President, International AIDS Society President, Fundación Huésped |
Luis Soto-Ramírez, MD AIDS 2008 Co-Chair Head, Molecular Virology Unit, Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán, Coordinator, Clinical Care Committee, CONASIDA |
